Duties and Responsibilities
General Lab management:

  • Incorporates new protocols and methodology into work as directed by PI.
  • Orders lab supplies and maintains orderly records of purchases.
  • Oversee general lab spending.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations.
  • Provides routine communication between the lab and the PI.
  • Provides management of technical and administrative activities in research lab.


Project management:

  • Oversee the progression of several research projects in collaboration with graduate students.
  • Independently performs experimental techniques and operate specialized equipment required to complete the project.
  • Will set up and optimize experimental design and lab technique.
  • Maintains knowledge, and detailed records, of the research being conducted by all members of the lab.
  • Train members of the lab as appropriate.
  • Supervises lab personnel, including progress of individual projects.
  • Gathers, organizes, and records data. Performs analysis of results.
  • Communicates with other departments and groups to aid in project progression.
  • Coordinate time, people, and resources in order to progress all the projects.
  • Assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a lab setting.

  • Master's Degree Preferred.
