Student Success and Well-Being Student Financial Assistance:

Student Financial Assistance is dedicated to supporting UCF's mission and goals through the efficient delivery of student aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive offering of financial assistance options to support student success and the attainment of a university degree.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Student Success and Well Being Student Financial Assistance department is currently accepting applications for an Application Systems Analyst II. This role implements IT solutions to address business needs and meets with stakeholders to gather detailed functional needs and possible solutions. This position ensures compliance with strategic plans, policies, and procedures for university programs and software applications. This role develops, implements, upgrades, tests, converts, and supports systems and applications. This position also supports modules and functionality within the system including analysis for implementations, and provides upgrades, testing, conversion, and on-going support for assigned areas.

Responsibilities:


  • Writes packaging equations and packaging plans in Peoplesoft to facilitate mass packaging and repackaging of federal, state, and institutional financial aid award programs.

  • Designs and runs queries to ensure compliance of financial aid policies.

  • Seeks innovative methods of extracting information from the Student Information System to uncover potential problems in compliance and anticipates and circumvents future problems. Supervising member(s) of the SFA IT support team.

  • Translates requirements into technical system specifications, components, estimates and project plans.

  • Manages deliverables and project documentation and facilitates project meetings.

  • Delivers functional design specifications.

  • Works with Technical team to develop estimates to develop and deploy solutions.

  • Works independently with general supervision.

  • Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

  • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.


Updates:


  • Reviews and analyzes UCF system processes and administrative business processes and procedures for reengineering and automation.

  • Identifies improvement needs.

  • Assists with implementation of patches and upgrades.

  • Communicates, verifies, and tests desired functionality changes.


Problem Solving:


  • Investigates errors, diagnoses problems, documents the problem, tracks issues, and recommends solutions.

  • Performs diagnostics, troubleshoots problems, and escalates problems to vendors.

  • Assures appropriate and prompt solutions to system and end user issues.

  • Coordinates problem resolution with other team members and UCF support resources.

  • Ensures open communication of issues and resolutions.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with Financial Aid Administration.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Oracle.

  • Supervisory Experience.
