Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Office of Student Development is available to assist
UNC School of Law students with a full spectrum of issues and provides opportunities related to their academic and personal welfare. The Office manages the full spectrum of Student Development activities at the School of Law. These include, but are not limited to, student advising and counseling, enrollment management; student organization and co-curricular organization budgeting, advising and training; student conduct and safety; student communications issues, student wellness initiatives, and overseeing the Pro Bono Program. In addition, the Office is responsible for coordination of planning for major events (e.g. graduation, orientation, Wellness Week, etc.) as well as matters relating to the entry of students to into the legal profession. |
Position Summary |
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and coordinate the business and fiscal functions of the Office of Student Development (Student Services and Pro Bono) including the business operations and budgets for over fifty student/co-curricular organizations and the Pro Bono Program. This position requires extensive contact with students and other law school units such as Advancement, Career Development, Human Resources, and the Finance Office. The individual in the position has access to and processes a great deal of confidential student information. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to, program coordination, program marketing and customer service,budget management, event planning, report writing, summarizing and reconciling information or financial data and records and facilities management.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Knowledge of applicable business policies and procedures.
* Ability to monitor and maintain financial resources from several sources as applied to varied student organizations.
* Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
* Experience with event planning, organization and execution.
* Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Ability to utilize, learn, and adapt to new and existing office technology.
* Demonstrated communication skills and strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Experience utilizing financial reports and preparing user-friendly documentation of revenues and expenses.
* Prior experience with university systems, particularly Connect Carolina, are preferred (but not required). |
