Manages the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming freight and parcels to support manufacturing operations. Ensures incoming materials meet quality and quantity standards, processes material returns and performs material handling duties as assigned. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely receipt, storage, and internal delivery of materials.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Receive materials for the following functions:
    • Painted Parts Receiving/Storage/Put-Away: Receive painted parts, ensure proper labeling, and store them according to Stockroom guidelines.
    • Freight: Manage the receipt of freight shipments, verifying quantities, quality, and handling discrepancies, trailer inspections, and safe unloading.
    • Parcels: Oversee the receiving and inspection of parcel deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt to achieve 24-hour turnaround time.
  • Stockroom Support: Assist with material handling tasks as needed to support other Stockroom functions, including stock organization, and assist with material requisition pulling and material issue.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration with Quality Control/Quality Inspection: Work closely with the Quality Inspection team to ensure that incoming materials meet company standards before being processed.
  • Collaboration with Purchasing/Sourcing Team: Coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure that materials are verified against Purchase Orders/Packing List and that all discrepancies are immediately communicated for proper resolution.
  • Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with Stockroom customers (Production, Shipping, Aftermarket Parts, and other departments) to ensure timely receipt and handling of materials.
  • Achieve 24-Hour Turnaround Goal: Ensure that materials are received, inspected, and put away within 24 hours of arrival to meet the company's turnaround time target.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move materials.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Perform other tasks as directed by the Stockroom Lead and/or Supervisor to support operations.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 4+ years of experience in warehousing and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift certification (stand-up forklift operation required).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments (Quality Control, Purchasing, Production, etc.).
  • Basic math skills and computer skills to perform computer related functions and ERP transactions.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone, 70 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
