Inside the Role

As Daimler Truck North America's Corporate Communications team, we protect and enhance Daimler Truck's reputation. We are the storytellers that connect and integrate across global teams and local business units to drive consistent messaging, provide communications counsel, and work to get the word out about our company, its news, and its products. With a focus on internal communications, the successful candidate will work closely with all colleagues on the DTNA Communications team, MarComm teams, and a wide variety of departments to create compelling content that engages and inspires DTNA employees. The candidate will also have the ability to work concurrently on a variety of exciting projects and lend support to fellow members of the Corporate Communications team to assist with events, and departmental operations, as needed. The candidate should be ready to play the part of citizen journalist, editor, and broadcaster. Candidate should be a motivated self-starter ready to roll-up their sleeves, jump in and help where needed, and document current events to share company news with fellow employees.

Position offers a starting salary range of$71,000- $91,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

Employee Newsletter

  • Manage a weekly internal communications newsletter for DTNA employees to share stories from multiple business units and geographic areas.

  • Manage biweekly internal communications newsletter for Portland campus, and oversee governance of Fort Mill and Detroit campus newsletters as well.

  • Manage internal communications process, including overseeing editorial calendar for newsletter, adding content on Daimler social intranet platform, and managing internal communications mailbox.

  • Manage analytics to provide insight that helps the team measure results and inform editorial content.

Employee App

  • Assist in launching an internal communications app to multiple locations in the US and Mexico in order share DTNA stories and company information/resources with shop-designated employees.

  • Manage an on-going collaborative process with local site leaders to ensure message consistency and adherence to corporate standards relative to information shared.

  • Regularly assess analytics to inform future content.

Content Curation and Creation

  • Coordinate and develop strong working relationships with various departments and their teams to understand their communications needs and provide exemplary support - via newsletter or other channels - while evaluating and diplomatically balancing those needs with other internal communications.

  • Be the eyes, ears, and voice of the company to identify opportunities for impactful content that builds employee pride in DTNA.

  • Tailor external news across corporate and product topics for internal consumption.

  • Develop creative visual assets for video walls, kiosks, bulletin boards, and the Daimler Social Intranet.

  • Manage and develop portfolio of content franchises, including the creation of original video assets.

  • Monitor metrics of various content formats to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and higher internal engagement.

  • Edit submitted written content and write original content (i.e. articles) for inclusion in the newsletter and/or the Daimler Social Intranet.

Operational Support

  • Assist in delivering real-time alerts for company news via email, instant messaging system, and other tools, when required.

  • Assist in content development and management of logistics for employee meetings and activities, both virtual and in-person.

  • Assist in the coaching and preparation of speakers for internal programs.

  • Assist in developing and refining other departmental tools and channels to reach manufacturing workforce and other Daimler Truck Group business units.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.

  • 4+ years of communications, PR, or marketing experience.

  • Experience with editorial planning and content development, as well as writing and an intermediate level of experience in graphic design.

  • Experience creating digital media, including video and graphic design.

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and strong editing and proofreading skills.

  • Strong computer skills covering general office software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
