We are seeking a creative and strategic Internal Communications Specialist (Communications Officer) to join our marketing team. This role involves managing, optimizing, and enhancing Amegy's internal communication, blog content, and internal calendar with an understanding of banking compliance regulatory guidelines.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Internal Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing internal communication strategies that foster a positive and engaging work environment. You will ensure that employees are well-informed, engaged, motivated, and aligned with the bank's goals and values. This position supports revenue growth and business goals through proactive communication that engages employees, enhances the culture of the bank and showcases Amegy as an expert in the banking industry and a leading corporate citizen.

Responsibilities:
  • Internal Communication Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication strategies that support the bank's goals and enhance employee engagement. Manage the quality and consistency of communications aimed to increase understanding and awareness of the organization's culture and on-going performance.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and distribute internal communications, including newsletters, emails, intranet updates, and other materials that keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Executive Communication: Support internal executive communication efforts by drafting talking points, presentations and messages (sometimes sensitive) for senior leadership.
  • Digital Signage: Develop relevant and refreshed content/design for Digital Signage based on location including providing guidance on the frequency of display and length of time the content will run.
  • Company Intranet: Serve as content administrator of the company intranet, including writing, design and publishing, proactively leveraging the intranet for employee engagement.
  • Employee Engagement: Plan and execute initiatives that promote a positive work culture, including employee recognition programs, town hall meetings, and other engagement activities. Conduct interviews with colleagues, clients and leadership team for internal/external feature news stories and articles.
  • Internal Events/Meetings: Oversee key event logistics for high level internal meetings, including, but not limited to the use of presentation systems, streaming/recording equipment, etc.
  • Crisis Communication: Lead communication efforts during business continuity events, including writing internal crisis communication messages, updating the company intranet, planning employee calls and coordinating with public relations and marketing teams to update social media and web content.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Establish and manage feedback channels to gather employee input and measure the effectiveness of internal communication efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, marketing, and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the bank's overall communication strategy.
  • Training & Development: Provide training and support to managers and employees on effective internal communication practices and tools.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Monitor and analyze the impact of internal communication initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in internal communication, continuously seeking ways to improve and innovate.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in internal corporate communications, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with intranet platforms and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of employee engagement strategies and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
