Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $182820 - $242178.2. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Supply Chain Planning? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Supply and Logistics team. As Director-Planning, you'll be crucial in ensuring continued innovation and supporting our diverse team.

The Supply Chain Planning Director builds, motivates and manages a team of demand and supply planners and the inventory management team in a learning and dynamic environment. This is an enterprise role responsible for leveling internal and external supply across all value streams to transform operating service levels across the supply chain, including internal and external supply streams. This role is not responsible for internal supply performance (in the value stream) but collaborates with Value Stream to gain step change in supply reliability. Synthesizes the risk in supply with the demands of commercial growth to improve customer service level targets. Manages risk proactively and effectively communicates across the organization while transforming supply performance. The Supply Chain Planning Director oversees the enterprise guidelines of supply planning and ensures alignment of Value Stream planners (matrixed) who lead the execution of internal supply. The planning director leads the development and continuous improvement of global supply chains, fostering an optimistic outlook for the future of the company's supply chain. The continuous improvement ensures reliable, responsive and efficient production, distribution and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Leadership and Execution

* Identify and implement best practices to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs and enhance delivery performance. Establish KPIs, reporting mechanisms, and performance dashboards to measure operational effectiveness.

Leadership of S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning)

* Transforming and Leading enterprise S&OP, cross-functional collaboration between sales, finance and operations to align supply chain plans with business goals. Identifying and improving risks across demand and supply plans with peers in sourcing, procurement, supply intelligence and logistics. Lead the development and refinement of demand forecasting models, working closely with sales, marketing and finance to incorporate historical trends, market intelligence and customer insights.

Enterprise Supply Planning Optimization

* Develop and oversee master planner schedules that maximize internal and external suppliers to build resilient sources of supply to meet customer demand horizons while maintaining cost-effectiveness. Identify and implement best practices for supply planning, including the integration of advanced planning systems, automation and analytics tools.

Develop and Lead Enterprise Inventory Management

* Build an enterprise inventory team to define a strategic playbook and control system including enterprise inventory management policies, including supply chain and material management methodologies for internal supply chains: inventory management including slow-moving & obsolete with finance, material and control governances, inventory levels and stocking parameters.

Cross-functional Collaboration

* Lead initiatives to align planning processes with procurement, logistics and manufacturing, ensuring a seamless flow of materials and minimizing disruptions.

Enterprise Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Management Oversight

* Manage and develop a team of demand and supply planners, providing coaching, career development and performance management to build a high-performing planning function.

Training and Best Practices

* Establish training programs and documentation for standard planning processes, ensuring consistency and knowledge sharing within the team.

Financial & Cost Management

* Develop and manage global logistics, warehousing and transportation budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through network optimization, process improvements and vendor negotiations with sourcing. Ensure financial accountability by tracking cost performance and implementing corrective actions as needed.

Leadership & Team Development

* Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing supply & logistics planning team. Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement within the team. Manage recruitment, training and performance evaluations of audit staff, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

Thought Leadership

* Provide though leadership and direction to the logistics team, staying abreast of the latest tools and technologies to improve S&C's planning function continuously.

Compliance

* Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

Job Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related field (Master's Degree/MBA preferred)

* APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or ASCM Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

* 10+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain or related functions within a manufacturing environment.

* 7+ years in a leadership role leading S&OP, managing demand and supply planning teams .

* Experience with Business Process Redesign, ERP and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems such as SAP, Oracle or Kinaxis.

* Deep understanding of forecasting methodologies, supply planning principles and inventory optimization techniques.

* Excellent leadership skills with an ability to lead, guide, motivate and delegate to deliver results, build teams and capabilities, embrace change, drive decisions and results, embrace culture and inclusion and exhibit integrity.

* Superb organizational, planning and project management skills, driving strategic planning initiatives with cross-functional teams, creative problem-solving when obstacles arise and juggling a heavy volume of diverse projects including both strategic and tactical assignments.

* Excellent interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience .

* Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening and presentation). Able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from senior executives to support staff and present compellingly to achieve buy-in from executives, managers and team members.

* Excellent business acumen and analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve complex issues and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement. Must have expertise in demand planning, software and analytical tools.

* Excellent consultancy skills and ability to consult at all levels of the organization on issues and decisions that required extensive knowledge of audit strategies, policies, programs and practices. Ability to implement a new strategy and "sell" ideas and concepts to senior leadership.

* Ability to travel as required.

Major Physical Demands:

Sitting-Frequently required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based tasks for 8 hours at a time approximately [5] days per week

Walking-Occasionally required to walk moderate distances at the S&C Chicago campus

Observation / Eyesight-Frequently required to observe details at close range, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors

Communication-Continuously required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls

Travel-Occasionally required to travel overnight, domestically and internationally and work extended hours when necessary.
