We are seeking an Application Analyst for our implementation of a data archiving system that will consolidate historical data from multiple legacy systems across the medical system and its' affiliates. This critical initiative will establish a streamlined, efficient, and accessible repository for archived information.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on projects, a strong understanding of project deliverables, and the ability to stay organized while maintaining a project-focused mindset. They should be a proactive self-starter with a keen ability to learn quickly and adapt, especially in the context of our archiving project. They should also have knowledge or experience in Health Information Management Operations or in Healthcare IT, knowledge of Clinical Documentation and Coding Improvement functions and operations and demonstrated ability to become Epic certified in HIM modules: Hospital Coding, ROI-Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, Identity.

Once the archiving system is successfully implemented, this role will transition into Epic HIM work, focusing on the support and maintenance of Hospital Coding, Deficiency Tracking, Identity & Release of Information, Health Information Management (HIM), and Epic solutions. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity, functionality, and optimization of these systems within our healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include:

* Install new software, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings and validate configurations performed by Application Analysts.

* Define go-live and rollout support schedule. Assist in the coordination of field support activities. Provide go-live and rollout support.

* Participate in after hours on-call rotation.

* Support users with new applications, modules, and functionality.

* Resolve critical issues independently as necessary. Forward issues to the correct group for remediation or elevate it to the vendor if required.

* Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users.

* Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.

* Interpret end user requirements, by fully discussing potential options, and help stakeholders move towards optimal solutions.

* Utilize extensive knowledge of the system to reveal potential issues related to user requests.

* Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.

* Create system specifications from user requirements.

* Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications.

* Document all outcomes of testing. Review Application Analyst's test plans and documented outcomes for consistency and thoroughness.

* Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support.

Requirements include:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Full life cycle application/system implementation, go-live, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
  • Conversion/migration experience
  • Legacy system archiving experience
  • Knowledge or Experience in Health Information Management Operations or in Healthcare IT
  • Knowledge of Clinical Documentation and Coding Improvement functions and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to become Epic certified in HIM modules: Hospital Coding, ROI-Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, Identity
  • Experience with third party application support
  • Experienced with working on projects, understanding de
  • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience supporting end users
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customers, vendors, peers, and management
  • Presentation skills
  • Excellent follow up skills, documentation skills and organizational skills
  • Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities
  • Meeting all requirements for Epic certification is a condition of employment
