The Manufacturing 2nd Shift Supervisor at Rotex will lead daily manufacturing operations during scheduled shifts to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and timely delivery. This role oversees the production team, manages activities to meet schedules and standards, and fosters a safe, harmonious work environment. The Supervisor actively supports continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence aligned with the company's strategic goals. Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday to Thursday) Time: 3:30pm to 2:00am (10 hour shift) Overtime Potential: 3pm to 3:30am with potential Fridays Work You'll Do:
Plan, supervise, and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. Develop, motivate, and lead a skilled workforce dedicated to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Monitor, evaluate, and coach production personnel to drive performance, quality, and safety adherence. Maintain product quality by ensuring compliance with established standards and working with Quality Assurance to identify process improvements. Identify root causes of problems; implement permanent corrective actions and suggest method, equipment, or process improvements. Support safety initiatives, ensure a clean and safe work environment, and maintain good housekeeping practices. Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members in cooperation with management and Human Resources. Assist in preparing and managing shift budgets, seeking opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization. Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve issues swiftly and keep operations running smoothly. Support product development activities, including expediting and coordinating prototype testing as needed. Develop and execute action plans to meet departmental and business goals, supporting continuous improvement activities and lean initiatives. Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational discipline across the shift. Perform additional duties as required to ensure operations meet company objectives.
Team:
You will be a key operations leader within the manufacturing team at Rotex, working alongside skilled operators, technicians, and support staff focused on producing world-class separation equipment. Reporting to the Plant or Operations Manager, you will foster a safety-first culture and lead initiatives for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or supervisory development experience preferred. 3+ years of manufacturing or production experience, with leadership or supervisory exposure. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety standards, manufacturing practices, and quality systems. Ability to interpret production schedules, monitor KPIs, and manage shift performance effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and basic computer applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Machining, welding, forming, laser, or plasma cutting experience preferred. Supervisory experience in a union or non-union manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement processes. Background in equipment maintenance or tooling processes advantageous.
