Position Summary:

Are you ready to turn raw data into real-world impact? Securian Financial is looking for a Data Engineering Analyst to join our team! In this role, you'll help design, build, and maintain data pipelines that power critical insights-transforming and cleansing data to ensure it's accurate, accessible, and secure. You'll work closely with a collaborative team to deliver innovative solutions using tools like ETL/ELT, SQL, and AWS, while upholding high standards in data governance. We're looking for someone who communicates clearly, embraces continuous learning, and brings hands-on experience with cloud platforms and ETL workflows.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformations for low to medium complexity projects, ensuring data quality and alignment with governance standards.
  • Apply current tools and best practices to deliver high-quality data engineering solutions, demonstrating strong technical proficiency.
  • Develop technical solutions in collaboration with team members, based on business requirements and system analysis.
  • Implement and maintain security controls for data pipelines, enforce data management policies, and support enterprise Data Governance efforts.
  • Share knowledge and promote team learning through clear documentation and accessible resources.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes involving both structured and unstructured data.
  • Proficient in SQL and working knowledge of Java or Python.
  • Skilled in data validation and cleansing methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Creative problem-solver with a proactive, resourceful approach.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in data engineering or a related technical role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • AWS Cloud certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer) and practical experience with services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Redshift, and Glue.

#LI-Hybrid **This position will have a hybrid working arrangement, working in-office for a minimum of 3 days a week.**

Our policy allows flexibility for the reality of business and personal schedules.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$52,500.00 - $97,500.00

Pay may vary depending on job-related factors and individual experience, skills, knowledge, etc. More information on base pay and incentive pay (if applicable) can be discussed with a with a member of the Securian Financial Talent Acquisition team.
