Job Summary:

To manage plant records and critical documents. Verify that all quality and efficiency standards are being met. Assume responsibility for the accuracy of daily records and upkeep of all documentation. Communicate all deficiencies with management and plant personnel. A driver of Quality, Safety, and Efficiency within the plant.

Essential Functions of the Job:



  • Responsible for review and data management of production and quality records containing critical to quality results from Batching, Sanitation, Processing, Filling, Downline, and other applicable duties.
  • Notification and escalation of non-compliant results and documentation of critical non-conformances.
  • Support process deviation workbook creation - upload of records and identification of CIP bookends.
  • Filling out record related deviations, corrective actions and communicating appropriately.
  • Creation of SunOpta COA for product shipments, reconciling cases shipped for each acceptable lot.
  • Entering the incubation results in the data base and providing production staff with information to help monitor performance.
  • Tracking and reporting of Record compliance KPIs.
  • Ability to pull proper documentation in support of audits, customer complaints, and other issue management.
  • Record upload/scanning to customer as required.
  • Assists lab techs in situations of need.
  • All other duties, as assigned.


Key Accountabilities:

Safety



  • Follow all facility human and food safety policies including proper use of PPE.
  • Report all near misses and accidents to the production supervisor.


Quality



  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to conduct required testing for products prior to processing, after processing and prior to product release.
  • Must comply and support the HACCP program.


Housekeeping



  • Cooperates with other shifts and management team for facility housekeeping endeavors.


Communication



  • Ensure teamwork with management and operators occurs during each scheduled shift.


Teamwork and Training



  • Promote and contribute to the development of teamwork among production team members.


Personal Development



  • Continuous learning of the Aseptic batching, sterilization and filling processes.


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • None.


Level I Qualifications:



  • Must learn and consistently perform the above essential duties.


Level II Qualifications:



  • Coaching and training activities for clerical error correction and documentation.
  • Review and approval of micro sterility records.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to SunOpta support staffs.
  • Review and release Sensitive Raw Material COAs.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • College degree or certification.


Additional Considerations:



  • This role will be at the SunOpta Plant in Midlothian, TX.
  • This will be a day shift position, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and includes rotating weekends.
  • Some travel may be required for meetings or other job-related functions.
  • Approximately 25% of this role will be performed in a manufacturing/lab environment; approximately 75% of this position may involve being in an office environment.
