Sr. Manager Global Project Management

The Sr Manager Global Project Management is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's global project portfolio, with a particular focus on capital expenditure (CapEx) and key cross-functional projects. This position ensures that all projects align with the company's strategic objectives, are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while adhering to global standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance:

  • PMO Establishment & Leadership: Develop and implement a centralized PMO that serves as the governance hub for all projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Governance Frameworks: Establish and enforce standardized project management methodologies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.

Portfolio & Project Management:

  • Portfolio Oversight: Oversee the global project portfolio, ensuring prioritization aligns with business objectives and resource allocation is optimized.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets. Lead the execution of projects from initiation to completion.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the development of robust financial models including cash flows, NPV, IRR calculations, and project budget forecasts. Review and approve CapEx financial models.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management plans to support project implementation and adoption. Manage communication and training strategies to drive stakeholder buy-in and user adoption.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers & engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Training & Development: Implement training programs to enhance project management capabilities across the organization.
  • Performance Management: Establish performance metrics and KPIs for capital projects and conduct regular portfolio reviews.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Executive Collaboration: Work closely with executives to ensure project alignment with business strategies and to address any escalated issues.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless project execution and to resolve any interdepartmental challenges.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Process Optimization: Analyze project outcomes to identify lessons learned, and implement improvements in processes and methodologies for future projects.
  • Benchmarking & Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, integrating relevant methodologies to enhance PMO effectiveness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years' experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing global projects.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, etc.).
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Knowledge of global business practices and cultural nuances.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven experience in change management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certificate

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to the Vice President of Global Operations.
  • Senior Directors of Production, Plant Managers, Product Management Directors, Technology Directors, Sr. Quality Manager, Finance, and IT.

Travel Requirements:

  • 5% - Occasional international travel may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Office and manufacturing environment.
  • PPE - Steel Toe, Safety Glasses, Gloves (as needed)
  • This is a global role; candidates should be open to working across different time zones and cultures.
