We are seeking a full-time dynamic, highly skilled and motivated Information Technology Director to join our team. This position is based in Minneapolis with an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule. The Information Technology Director primary duty is to lead the Information Technology (IT) and Digital Design Operations (D2O) departments. A successful candidate will be a progressive, visionary leader with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

  • Develop and implement technology strategies that support our business objectives and drive innovation.
  • Maintain existing IT infrastructure and software to ensure our teams have the tools needed to perform their duties at the highest level possible.
  • Ensure all technology solutions are aligned with industry best practices and meet client needs.
  • Continuously optimize technology by identifying and recommending opportunities for automation, technology enhancements, efficiencies, and appropriate capital investments.
  • Ensure all design technologies meet evolving client requirements, industry standards, and project delivery needs.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the IT and Digital Design Operations teams, ensuring high-quality corporate support and project delivery.
  • Be an evangelist for technology and represent the team to staff, peers, senior management, and clients.
  • Foster a culture that drives engagement, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the departments and across the company.
  • Assist with the development of tactical and operational decisions.
  • Resolve difficult issues with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Confidently redesign team structure to enhance operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external clients, understand their needs and provide them with exceptional service.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure they deliver high quality products and services aligned with company objectives.
  • Negotiate key technology contracts.

Information Security Leadership

  • Oversee IT security and protect company assets and information.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and scaling of secure, reliable, and High-performing IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure appropriate cybersecurity and other risk mitigation practices are in place.
  • Oversee data governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in IT and technology management.
  • Strong leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation, along with a track record of leading successful technology initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels in the organization. Must be comfortable speaking and presenting in front of large groups.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and create innovative technology solutions to meet company needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Familiarity with the engineering and planning industry.
  • Strong team management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be current on advancements in technology and systems.
  • Client-focused with a proven ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Experience with IT service management, infrastructure and operations, enterprise architectural, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Experience with security, business continuity/disaster recovery, risk management, vulnerability assessments, incident management and security operations.
  • Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $215,000

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, job location, internal equity, market analysis, and specific qualifications relevant to the role.
