PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $194,400.00-$237,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $151,400.00 - $280,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. You'll set the strategic roadmap, drive delivery with high-performing engineering teams, and align technical innovation with our member-first mission. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead Technology Strategy:
    Design and execute a roadmap that aligns business goals with tech innovation across Wealth Deposits and Payments.
  • Coach and Empower Teams:
    Build and mentor a diverse, high-performance engineering team focused on collaboration, quality, and accountability.
  • Champion Agile Delivery:
    Guide teams through Agile practices while managing delivery timelines, product requirements, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Bridge Business & Tech:
    Partner with business units, product owners, and agile leads to translate member needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Drive Operational Excellence:
    Enhance engineering practices, embrace automation, and integrate modern CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and stability.
  • Oversee Strategic Initiatives:
    Lead major projects from concept to execution, ensuring outcomes meet expectations in scope, quality, and timing.
  • Optimize Resources:
    Review financial plans, vendor contracts, and staffing needs to support new initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Track What Matters:
    Define and measure OKRs and KPIs to assess progress, ensure alignment, and continuously improve delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience with hiring, performance, and team development accountability
  • 8+ years of IT experience with expertise in application design and financial products (e.g., deposits, payments, credit cards, loans)
  • Proven experience building and leading technology platforms and engineering teams
  • Background working in Agile/Scrum environments and delivery governance
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, infrastructure, or CI/CD systems

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Familiarity with industry trends in digital banking and cloud-based architecture
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across a matrixed organization
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience mentoring and developing mid-level technical leaders
  • Demonstrated focus on innovation, member experience, and inclusion
