GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Ply Cutter Operator operates ply cutter machine to pre-kit and provide materials to production. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The duties and responsibilities listed below apply to all levels of Ply Cutter Operators. Each level of Ply Cutter Operator has additional duties and responsibilities listed. Ply Cutter Operator ALL:
- Pre kits and provides cut materials to production.
- Operates Ply Cutting equipment.
- Ensures that materials are cut accurately by paying close attention to details.
- Understands, uses, and converts as necessary, various units of measure.
- Transports rolls of raw material from freezer to machine.
- Must be mechanically inclined to assist facilities to perform preventative maintenance activities on Ply Cutting equipment.
- Performs inventory control functions, charging of materials using ERP system including cycle counts.
- Performs other duties / supports other departments depending on workload.
- Follows all safety precautions.
- Responsible for 6S standards within their work area and on equipment.
- Monitors material expiration dates and out timecards.
- Manage and control materials inventory for each individual workorder.
- Ensures all work is completed within the acceptable standards of the KUAS Quality Program.
Ply Cutter Operator l
- Works under close supervision.
- Performs basic math calculations.
- Performs basic measurements.
- Follows written instructions provided.
- Has basic understanding of composite materials.

- An understanding of lamination processes a plus.
Ply Cutter Operator l
- Preferably 1 year hands-on experience in manufacturing production.
- Communicate professionally and effectively both written and verbally.
- Must be able to demonstrate the accurate use of a tape measure.
- Typical qualifications for this level include a basic level of:
- Math skills
- Documentation skills in reading and writing basic forms of documentation
- Computer skills with the ability to navigate around files.
- Developing knowledge of the materials used within the department
- Ability to operate equipment being used within the department
- Developing an understanding of and working within KUAS Assembly Processes
Preferred: N/A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required:
- Requires high school education or equivalent.
- May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Preferred:
- Preferably previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing, walking, bending, reaching and occasionally sitting.
- Manipulating materials.
- Use of hand tools (repetitive motion).
- Occasionally lifts and carries objects weighing up to 35 Lbs.
- May work extended hours or weekends.
- Exposed to noise and hazardous chemicals.
- Will move materials in/out of walk-in freezer.
- Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Some travel may be required between Kratos locations.
