Job Summary:



This position provides support for the University of Colorado ARTS Medication Mobile Unit (MMU), ensuring smooth and professional operations at service locations. Key responsibilities include patient check-ins, appointment scheduling and confirmation, payment collection, maintaining accurate financial records, and coordinating with ARTS Centralized Billing and Management. The role also involves overseeing supply inventory, supporting abstinence monitoring protocols, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff through effective crowd management.

When the MMU is in operation, the position supports service delivery at various Metro Denver locations; when not in use, the role is based at the ARTS Westside Center for Change or other ARTS clinics. In addition to administrative duties, the position is responsible for the safe and competent operation, maneuvering, and storage of the MMU. This position will primarily work with patients who are participating in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), potentially referred from probation departments and with opioid dependent patients and/or other referral sources (i.e., department of social services).

This position is typically required to work from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, and occasionally for a limited number of hours on Saturdays from 6:00 am - 10:00 am.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee front desk/administrative activities and perform administrative coverage onboard the MMU, or at an ARTS AOP clinic, such as:

    • Manipulate data in electronic patient health records systems.
    • Accurately collect, track and record patient fee payments.
    • Enter data into and maintain accurate confidential patient records.
    • Gather patient statistical data for reporting purposes.
    • Prepare charts for MAT/non-MAT patient evaluations and intakes.


  • Provide information on program services and respond courteously to queries.
  • Control the flow of people in, around, and outside of the MMU at manageable levels, and continuously check areas for unauthorized personnel or movement of individuals.
  • Respond proactively to fire, police, and/or emergency personnel as necessary, and report any safety related incidents to ARTS Adult Outpatient Program (AOP) management.
  • Maintain any required certifications in emergency response, basic life support, and other areas as required by the University of Colorado, ARTS, as well as applicable federal and/or state law or regulation.
  • Drive, operate, and park the MMU in a safe, competent, courteous, and prudent manner at all times. Maneuver the MMU to/from its daily parked location at an AOP clinic and the location(s) where the MMU will provide SUD treatment and services.
  • Physically inspect and check all MMU doors, windows, entries and exits for safety, and inspect vehicle is in safe operating condition:

    • Each workday at minimum, at the start of workday.
    • Each hour during/at end of workday.




Exercise proper care and maintenance of all University- or ARTS-owned and/or leased equipment, including the MMU vehicle and onboard equipment to provide treatment services to patients.



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Denver, Aurora, and the surrounding greater Metro Denver area..

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Three (3) years of general clerical experience, such as working in a front desk/reception role.


Substitution: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, GED (or equivalent) or higher.
  • Experience working in a behavioral health, mental health, psychology, health care, or closely related workplace setting.
  • Experience working with individuals in medication assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Experience providing support to clients, families, staff, and other stakeholders in a substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Experience with procurement, purchasing, billing and/or contract management.
  • Experience processing financial documents such as invoices and expenses, tracking expenditures.
  • Experience with utilizing electronic health records and online billing systems.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Possess a current and valid Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) certification or higher, in good standing with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Experience working with clients who are involved with probation, human services, social services, criminal justice programs, and/or other referral sources.
  • Prior work experience in driving, parking, and/or safely maintaining a large vehicle such as a large passenger van, bus, recreational vehicle, or cargo truck.


Conditions of Employment:



  • Possess a valid driver's license that allows the individual in this position to operate the Medication Mobile Unit in the state of Colorado in accordance with applicable federal and/or state regulations.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and protect patient confidentiality (for example, HIPAA).
  • Ability to control the flow of people to maintain order and security.
  • Ability to work comfortably with patients who are referred from various sources, including parole/probation departments, department of social services, and other entities who work with patients with substance use disorder.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $50,844 - $58,482.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
