Position Summary |
The Horizons Program is a regional perinatal substance abuse treatment program of the Department of OB/
GYN at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This program provides comprehensive, gender specific outpatient and residential treatment for pregnant women and mothers and their children. This position is located within the residential program, called Daybreak at
UNC Horizons. In this program, a mother and her children age 0-11 may reside in their own apartment for up to one year (with 6 months aftercare). The mother works on her recovery from active addiction, trauma and other mental health issues, parenting, and education and employment for self-sufficiency. The children who reside with the mother receive comprehensive evaluations and treatment as indicated.
The primary purpose of this position will be to serve as our clinical lead for the outpatient and residential sites. This position will work with the clinical team to ensure quality patient care and to assist with patient concerns. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline and three years of experience related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Professional licensure is required: LCAS, LCAS-A or CCS.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Program Director must have one year of experience working with beneficiaries diagnosed with substance use disorders.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Prefer someone with experience in a women's residential substance use disorder treatment program and who has worked in a trauma informed environment.
- Prefer at least one year of experience working with women that are pregnant or parenting and using substances.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements |
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs with or without accommodation. |
