Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about contributing to capability development, experimentation, and integration efforts across the Army intelligence enterprise, supporting warfighter-focused experimentation and the evaluation of emerging technologies, tactics, and doctrine.

The selected candidate will provide technical and operational planning support of the Command and Control (C2) - Counter C2 Concept Focused Warfighting Experiment (CFWE) at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence (ICoE) Battle Lab located at Fort Huachuca, AZ. The person in this role directly supports concept development, experimentation, and capability integration within the Army intelligence enterprise. The Intelligence SME Planner will provide critical planning and execution support, including coordination with stakeholders, development of experiment products, and leadership in the absence of the government lead planner.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to help shape the future of Army C2 by leading the development and execution of high-impact experimentation efforts. As the lead planner for the C2 - Counter C2 CFWE, you will operate at the intersection of operational art, concept development, and emerging capability integration. This role demands both operational expertise and creativity to design realistic, complex scenarios that challenge current doctrine and test future solutions. You will play a central role in defining experimentation strategies, building planning frameworks, and producing key insights that will inform Army modernization and multi-domain operations. In this role, initiative, adaptability, and leadership will be essential.

What You'll Do



  • Supports the modeling and simulation experiments
  • Provides military intelligence expertise and design support for each experiment, serving as the primary planning SME for the C2-Counter C2 CFWE
  • Develop and maintain briefing materials, information papers, and planning tools to support experiment design, coordination, and execution
  • Participate in and represent the ICoE Battle Lab during Integrated Concept Development Team (ICDT) meetings, working groups, In-Progress Reviews (IPRs), and other planning events
  • Collaborate with Army Futures Command, TRADOC, and Joint/Army stakeholders to ensure alignment of experiment objectives with Army modernization priorities
  • Conduct coordination efforts with external stakeholders for planning of experiments
  • Support scenario design and the integration of Intelligence Warfighting Function (IWfF) injects into experiment architectures and modeling/simulation environments
  • Assists with development, analysis, and management of experiment execution
  • Assists in the identification of risks and relevant mitigation solutions during experiments
  • Supports modeling and simulation responsibilities for modernization activities
  • Responsible for running military simulators during experiments (OneSAF, IEWTPT, LOTS, etc.) as required
  • Collect and analyze data from warfighting experiments to support findings, insights, and recommendations (FIR) development.
  • Act as the lead planner in the absence of the government experiment lead, maintaining planning continuity and driving coordination across stakeholders.
  • Track key milestones and deliverables associated with the experiment lifecycle, from concept development to final report publication.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Some CONUS travel required to support off-site planning events, working groups, and experiment execution


Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university; Degree may be waived based upon relevant work experience
  • Former U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, Warrant Officer, or Senior NCO (E7+) with at least 10 years of military intelligence experience
  • Five (5) years of active-duty Echelon Corps and Below (ECB) experience within the past five (5) years
  • Demonstrated experience in military planning, operational design, or capability development, preferably in support of experimentation or concept development
  • Strong understanding of C2/Counter-C2 operations and emerging Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) concepts
  • Experience developing and presenting staff products (e.g., briefs, white papers, CONOPs)
  • Knowledge of Army and Joint Doctrine and a demonstrated understanding of conducting and analyzing research and collecting data
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple echelons, stakeholders, and functional areas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly convey complex ideas to senior leaders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic planning and collaboration tools (e.g., Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining timelines and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Required


Desired Requirements and Qualifications:



  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited university.
  • Graduate of a military service school equivalent to the Army Command and General Staff College (Military Education Level - 4)
  • Previous Battle Lab Experience as a Planner
