DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial accounts of our residents. Your duties will involve processing fund deposits, disbursing checks, and managing petty cash. You will also be responsible for opening new resident accounts when they move into the center. Additionally, you will work closely with the Revenue Office and social services staff to help residents pay their monthly bills, including utilities and laundry. Your role will also involve assisting residents and their families with any financial inquiries they may have. Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating and sending invoices for residents whose family members are the responsible party and tracking payments as they are made.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
