Position Summary: Ensures consistency in execution of Company initiatives and standard practices across the organization. Lead strategy implementation to drive sales building and growth, impacting the Company's sales and profits. Directly accountable within responsible geography for education and adherence to legal and regulatory standards. Oversee and assist where necessary to maintain proper staffing and inventory levels to service our customers' needs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors store and personnel compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Serves as legal and professional resource for store and district leadership.
- Executes initiatives that drive sales growth, profit growth, payroll productivity and customer satisfaction in collaboration with Director of Operations. Develop responses to changes in the marketplace that result from competitors, new provider sites, managed care plans and other landscape changes
- Conducts operational assessments and addresses noncompliance
- Lead and execute projects as assigned by Director to enhance operations, grow sales, increase profitability or otherwise improve pharmacy operations.
- Assists and supports stores with various audits and regulatory visits to ensure compliance execution and necessary follow up
- Coaches and educates stores on sales building, inventory management, legal requirements, pharmacy shrink, workflow and pharmacy operations to maximize execution and optimize efficiencies.
- Coordinates all pharmacy remodel activity within select geography.
- Supports stores with incident reporting and HIPAA breaches and customer concerns.
- Assists in LP and Legal and Regulatory investigations. Attends State Board of Pharmacy meetings and other pharmacy related functions to support our business and profession as needed.
- Communicates to VPs, DOs and other retail leadership during calls, meetings and travel to retail
- Consults with Talent Planning, Staffing and directly responsible for reallocation of resources to keep stores open. Consults during performance appraisals and performance counseling of pharmacists. Ensures that regulatory needs are met when pharmacy staff has performance concerns.
- Partners in the interview process with the pharmacy recruiter for new grads, interns, pharmacy managers and other pharmacists as needed. Supports new grad training and participates in staffing planning for assigned market area. Partners with recruiter when needed to foster, build and maintain relationships with local colleges of pharmacy (teaching, precepting, proctoring, attending college evens and interview days) Supports pharmacy manager conference calls and training opportunities.
- Directs pharmacist and technician specialists on priorities for training, execution of programs and services, workflow efficiencies and processes and other projects as assigned.
- Communicate with and partner with the Pharmacy Scheduling Coordinators to ensure all locations are staffed to model and ensure that vacations, vacancies, and sick calls are covered.
- Allocates RSP and store pharmacists as needed to ensure all stores are open and staffed to meet customer needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum five years' experience as a practicing registered community pharmacist
- Thorough understanding of the systems, retail business operations, industry challenges, inventory management skills and margin pressures needed to achieve profits in a heavily regulated trade environment
- Extensive knowledge of the pharmacy industry and pharmacy regulations
- Three to five years as a Hannaford Pharmacy Manager preferred
