Posting Summary |
The Bertolet Lab at Rutgers University-Newark is hiring a Post-Doctoral Associate to investigate phytoplankton community ecology in freshwater lakes, with a focus on understanding mechanisms of community assembly and emergent functions, such as gross primary productivity and toxin production. The Post-Doctoral Associate will address research questions related to their interests, broadly centered on (1) the ecological mechanisms that regulate community assembly; (2) the structure, dynamics, and functioning of phytoplankton communities; and (3) the relationships between land use, phytoplankton community composition, and water quality. Candidates should have previous experience in limnology, field sampling, laboratory sample processing, bioinformatics, and ecological analysis/inference. Competitive candidates should have experience with mentoring, leading projects, and grant writing. Applicants with interests in urban ecosystems are especially welcome. Funding is available for two years with a preferred start date of Fall 2025. |
