Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Jefferson Health is seeking a results-oriented, enterprise-minded, and customer-focused leader to shape and unify the Corporate Systems team and function. This position will guide the transformation of the corporate applications function, building a cohesive, enterprise-aligned capability that advances delivery, supports long-term growth, and brings modern approaches, operational discipline, and strategic insight to align technology with organizational priorities.

Responsibilities include leading strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of applications; establishing policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for applications management; collaborating with functional leaders to define technology requirements; and overseeing the successful delivery and optimization of systems that support business operations.

This position plays a central role in helping the organization navigate growth through acquisitions by assessing technology alignment, coordinating application integration efforts, and recommending adjustments to reduce system complexity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the corporate applications roadmap supports current business demands and long-term goals
  • Partners with business stakeholders to provide technology solutions insights
  • Develops high-performing collaborative teams that prioritize collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional knowledge sharing
  • Work with executives and business stakeholders to define priorities and ensure that technology solutions deliver measurable value.
  • Oversee application governance, service-level agreements, and technology standards.
  • Responsible for vendor relationships.
  • Brings together previously separate application support teams to build a more cohesive and enterprise-aligned structure.

Essential Functions:

  • Keeps leadership and business stakeholders informed about application risks and issues.
  • Proactively manage and assess application portfolio to identify risks, operational issues, and opportunities for mitigation, including application retirement, replacement, or consolidation.
  • Promotes consistent practices for system changes, communication, and post-implementation support.
  • Develops operational standards and tracks team performance against defined goals.
  • Ensures that business-critical applications perform reliably and securely.
  • Support team development and integration of newly acquired resources.
  • Elevate urgent issues to senior leadership when appropriate.

Technical Competencies:

  • Experience with core systems, including Strata decision support and revenue analytics, Workday, Symplr workforce management, CB CS Gold cashless payment, Avantas SmartSquare, and LaborLytics.
  • Maintains alignment with the ERP team to stay informed about platform updates, release cycles, and interaction impacts, ensuring corporate applications decisions remain coordinated and compatible with enterprise systems.
  • Full lifecycle management, including system selection, planning, implementation, andretirement.
  • Understands how systems connect and how data moves between platform implementation in managing outside partners and holding them accountable for performance.
  • Comfortable making decisions about system priorities, funding, and timing.
  • Familiar with HIPAA, access control, and audit readiness.
  • Familiar with cloud-based delivery models and their implications for scalability and cost.

  • Has successfully led integration efforts following acquisitions, building bridges between teams and systems, and isexperienced at managing ambiguity and change, especially in fast-evolving organizations.
  • Committed to mentoring teams and creating an environment where people grow and contribute meaningfully.

  • Adaptable under pressure; able to keep focus when business conditions shift.
  • Works closely with business leaders as a trusted advisor and connector between operations and IT.
  • Confident working with executive teams and driving alignment at the senior level.
  • Comfortable navigating complex dynamics and adjusting direction when needed.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration required, Master's preferred.

  • ITIL Foundation (or higher-level ITSM credential)
  • Workday Pro Certification or another platform-specific equivalent
