LOCATION: Remote/Onsite

STATUS: Full-time, 1099 (Independent Contractor); 6-8 months of work

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AT CARLEY:

  • Programs interactive multimedia courseware (using a variety of software packages) to run in various user environments, such as CD-ROM, low-and high-bandwidth Internet, and networked electronic classrooms.

  • Selects and recommends the proper combination of software programs and toolsto meet complex user needs.

  • Develops innovative approaches, applies design principles and generates creative solutions to meet requirements.

  • Monitors progress, provide status of tasks and deliverables and escalate risks and issues in a timely manner

  • Analyzes, updates, and modifies software code and existing software programs.

  • Tests software and corrects discrepancies. Uses feedback to modify designs.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail.

  • Scales design efforts to meet production timelines.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned and needed

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree or higher in Computer Science, Digital Media, or related field.Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree, if applicable and or allowed under assigned contract.

  • Unity experience

  • Knowledge of C# and best practices for creating reliable and reusable code.

  • Understanding of object-oriented programing.

  • Experience with Unity Debugger.

  • Must be able to create Unity Packages to import/export assets between projects.

  • Familiarity with integrating 3D models and their associated textures into the game engine.

  • Understanding of core Unity editor features such as the use of "GameObjects", the Inspector, and the Project Hierarchy.

  • Knowledge of best practices to optimize a Unity Project such capping texture sizes, utilize Occlusion Culling and limited use of the Update Function.

  • A basic understanding of generating baked lightmaps in engine and limiting real-time lighting.

  • Experience with version control.

  • Due to the nature of the work at Carley, this position requires U.S. citizenship - REQUIRED.
