Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective support for the field construction operations function. Specifically, this role provides, maintains, transports, and tracks the equipment, tools, and construction supplies of the Small Tools Warehouse.

Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:

  1. Actively supports field operation's goals and objectives through completing assignments on time and accurately, providing ongoing support, and proactively resolving challenges and issues.
  2. Collaborates across functions and supports consistent technical practices and administrative procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards that protect the company's interests.
  3. Promotes and protects Teichert Construction values including diversity, teamwork, fair work environment, and respect of others. Maintains a "team" spirit within the business unit and on project teams. Works and cooperates with other disciplines (across company lines) to ensure maximum and best use of resources.

Technical / Specialty Area
  1. Assists with ensuring that field construction operations have the tools, equipment, and supplies required. Works with others to maintain an adequate inventory and assure equipment is in good working order and is delivered, or available, in a timely manner.
  2. Maintains small tool warehouse inventory receives and stores tools; tracks company-owned and rented equipment; coordinates repairs to existing tools; processes documents and invoices related to purchasing and repairing equipment.
  3. Assists in achieving a zero-injury culture through supporting safety programs and actively participating in appropriate safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a safe and healthy work environment and to meet corporate safety standards.
  4. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external customers. Maintains a favorable impression of the company with external customers through professional and courteous interactions. Gathers feedback and continuously makes improvements to work processes, practices, and equipment.
  5. Responsible for completion of internal administrative organization and documentation, including tracking, receiving documents, logs, work orders, and others as required. Equipment Manager Small Tools Warehouse Assistant
  6. Drives Forklift
  7. Operates hand and foot controls to drive the forklift to a designated site on the warehouse premises, with or without a load.
  8. Loading/Unloading - Manually adjusts fork width as needed; operates controls to raise, lower and tilt the fork to pick up and deposit loads; anticipates ground conditions and slope while positioning the forklift and placing loads.
  9. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Perform complex/varied tasks.
  10. Organize tasks and set priorities.
  11. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  12. Use basic problem-solving techniques.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • High School diploma or GED
Experience & Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum of two years experience in/knowledge of construction tools, warehouse inventory, or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience

Specific Job Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
  • Ability drive on occasion to company locations, vendors, suppliers, and agencies.
  • Current on all company required safety training
  • Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
  • Obtain and maintain current and up-to-date forklift certification card
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong ability to maintain construction tools
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to consistently appear for work on time
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment

Equipment Used:
  • Personal computer, telephone, two-way radio, forklift, hand tools, and electric tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Frequent use of the phone/radio. Driving company vehicle to pick up/deliver supplies and/or tools. Heavy lifting of materials and equipment up to 90 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours and consecutive days during peak seasons.
  • Work Environment: Exposed to the conditions of the warehouse and job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.

HOURLY BASE SALARY RANGE:
$23.35 - $32.70/hr
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
