Full-time Description
The Financial Reporting Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial and operational reporting needs. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and distributing scheduled and ad hoc reports, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting daily operational requests from business units. In addition to reporting responsibilities, this role contributes to light accounting activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working across systems and departments to support organizational initiatives. A strong understanding of data structure is essential to ensure data is extracted and interpreted accurately. Key Responsibilities *Prepare, validate, and distribute recurring reports for business units. *Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from departments across the organization. *Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs, define requirements, and ensure accurate output. *Understand how data is structured across systems and apply this knowledge to build reliable reports and resolve inconsistencies. *Assist with light accounting tasks such as account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, or variance analysis. *Maintain high standards for reporting processes and ensure consistency with internal controls and audit standards. *Escalate system or data quality issues to appropriate teams. Requirements
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience. *1-3 years of experience in reporting, financial analysis, or accounting support. *Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, etc.). *Demonstrated understanding of relational data structures, including how tables relate within databases or reporting systems. *Strong communication and organizational skills. *Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities. Preferred: *Exposure to accounting functions such as journal entries, GL reconciliations, or financial statement preparation. *Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI, Cognos, or SQL. *Experience in a regulated or financial services environment.
