Description Acara Solutions is seeking a highly capable contract Interim Senior Accountant to support our client's finance team during a period of transition and growth, including post-acquisition integration. This role will focus on general accounting, tax compliance, and onboarding of newly acquired entities into our financial systems and processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable navigating both routine and project-based workstreams. Please note, this role is temp/contract with an expected duration of 3-4 months. This role is fully remote, and the contractor can be based anywhere in the US. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Reporting: Assist in monthly close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Prepare and analyze financial statements Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulatory requirements Tax Compliance & Support: Review VAT, state, and local tax filings Respond to tax notices Maintain organized tax documentation and ensure audit readiness M&A Onboarding: Assist with financial and operational integration of newly acquired companies Reconcile and map acquired entities' accounts to corporate chart of accounts Support consolidation of financial data and ensure accurate reporting during transition Collaborate with cross-functional teams (legal, HR, IT, operations) to ensure smooth integration Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to tax and M&A-related work Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Understanding local taxation, and financial reporting Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Acumatica, Concur, Bill.com, Citibank, JP Morgan) and advanced Excel skills Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities Experience onboarding acquired entities or integrating financial systems post-M&A Industry experience in software Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
