We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Product Management to lead our data storage and metadata platform initiatives, with a particular focus on modern data architecture and open table formats like Apache Iceberg. This role will be responsible for driving the product vision, strategy, and execution of our enterprise-grade storage and metadata technologies.

AS A DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
  • Lead the product strategy and roadmap for data storage platform, including Snowflake managed storage, lake house architecture, open table formats, and open catalogs, and navigate Snowflake through the shift from proprietary formats to open ones

  • Drive product vision and execution for native adoption with open-source technologies like Apache Iceberg, Apache Polaris, and other emerging storage formats

  • Partner with engineering leadership to define technical roadmap architecture

  • Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and industry partners to understand market needs and translate them into product requirements

  • Own the go-to-market strategy and work closely with marketing to position storage solutions effectively

  • Build and manage a team of product managers focused on storage technologies

  • Define and track key metrics for product success, including adoption, performance, and customer satisfaction

  • Represent the company at industry events and contribute to thought leadership in the data storage space

OUR IDEAL DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT WILL HAVE:
  • 15+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focusing on data infrastructure, storage systems, or related technologies

  • Proven track record of delivering successful enterprise-scale storage or data platform products

  • Exceptional leadership experience, both in building high performing product management teams, and in leading broad company-wide and industry-wide initiatives

  • Deep understanding of modern data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and lake house patterns

  • Strong technical background with knowledge of open table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi)

  • Experience with cloud storage systems (S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage)

  • Excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $268,000 - $437,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
