Job Summary
The Senior Planning and Experience Specialist- Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for facilitating, developing, and executing creative design components for planning sessions and projects. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member, understand design principles and trends, and have a track record of success in designing group presentations, facilitation, and overall planning experiences.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in creating personalized convening experiences for participants across education, industry, and the community. Proven experience in designing compelling creative approaches for facilitation and idea gathering, including effective listening skills, ability to read a room and be attentive to nonverbal communication, and root cause analysis. Understanding of design principles, strategies, and tactics, with expertise in human-centered design, and communications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate planning sessions and to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work with stakeholders at all levels, building strong trust environments. Proven ability to execute, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, both collaboratively and independently. Excellent writing skills with specific attention to detail and demonstrated experience drafting polished and professional visuals, planning designs, and communication. Initiative-taker who applies creative thinking to develop solutions based on new methods and technologies. Strong analytical skill set to interpret and analyze data to prepare background materials and compelling prompts for planning sessions. Strong on relationship and consensus building, influencing skills and working with a variety of stakeholders. Strong skills in Canva, Adobe Lightroom, MS PowerPoint, or related visual design production tools.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to coach and motivate team members and establish performance objectives. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities to develop and improve new and current skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization. Excellent collaborator with a willingness to assist team members as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in design, communications, or organizational development. Official transcripts will be required. Two (2) years of experience in facilitation, presentation, design, and organizational development. Demonstrated experience in time management and project management. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong critical and strategic thinking skills. Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute and oversee the successful completion of various projects within the division. Define project objectives and create detailed project plans to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget. Produce compelling designs (visuals and facilitation plans), adhere to project timelines, and play a critical role in elevating the Strategic Initiatives and Dallas College vision. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with internal and external clients. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in creative design, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance the team's strategies. Support planning sessions that are designed to meet the needs of the increasingly college and external community. Complete required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year. Performs other duties as assigned.
