Xcel Energy is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our Transport Services Team, supporting the Transmission Group in the deployment and management of a new Dark Fiber network. This role will serve as a key liaison between the Operational Technology (OT) and Technology Services teams, ensuring seamless integration and performance of critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Transmission Group to design, implement, and maintain the Dark Fiber network. Provide engineering support for transport technologies including microwave systems, Nokia, and Ciena devices. Assist in network planning, capacity management, and performance optimization. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring high availability and reliability. Document network configurations, procedures, and standards. Strong understanding of microwave technologies and their application in utility networks. Experience with Nokia and Ciena transport/networking equipment. Familiarity with Dark Fiber infrastructure and optical networking principles. Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in utility or energy sector environments. Knowledge of OT/IT convergence and cybersecurity best practices. Relevant certifications (e.g., Nokia NRS, Ciena CE-A, CCNP, etc.). *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
