The Tableau Sales Strategy team partners directly with the Tableau leadership team as a trusted advisor, focused on strategic planning, sales optimization and business operational support. You will collaborate with many cross-functional teams such as finance, employee success, marketing, operations, and others. This is a high-impact role, with constantly evolving priorities and demands. You will think strategically, arrive at a focused execution plan, and lead the plan to fruition. Example of projects can range from the very strategic to the very operational and focus on some of the many areas, such as , business planning, "run the business" reporting, sales pipeline, go-to-market planning, and business performance. As this position supports the Tableau Center of Excellence, our reporting and analysis is done (almost) exclusively within the product. This position will also have a front seat in developing in the newly released Tableau Next. We're looking for highly passionate candidates who have relentless curiosity, a startup mentality, attention to detail, willingness to manage multiple priorities, and ability to deal with ambiguity effectively.Impact:
  • Understand the underlying data architecture supporting our business and how to use it to report on business performance.
  • Define key performance metrics and targets, build accurate, scalable, and intuitive reports and dashboards to derive insights into the health of the business, identify areas of weakness, and present improvement recommendations to sales leadership
  • Create executive-level presentations for both local and global leadership reviews
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses across multiple data sets and tools (examples of analyses include customer segmentation, sales participation, pricing and packaging recommendations, go-to-market strategy, etc.)
  • Assist in troubleshooting of operational issues as they surface; propose changes to systems and processes to fix root causes
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting or sales strategy/business operations roles
  • Analytical. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required Experience with quantitative analysis and financial modeling.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technically Savvy. Experience with R, Python, SQL, Tableau (or similar analytical packages) a plus.
  • Strong Communicator. Excellent spoken and written communications as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborator. Ability to connect business requirements to functional application capabilities quickly and assess the appropriate relevance of incorporating different product technologies to business problems; ability to learn new applications and technologies.
  • Curious. Self-directed work style; thrives at being resourceful and has a strong work ethic
  • Organized. Highly organized with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $133,400 to $183,500.
