The PDMA Global Medical Science Leader (GMSL) at Roche leverages deep expertise across multiple disease areas (DA) to provide strategic guidance in Real World Evidence (RWE) generation. In collaboration with global stakeholders, including Global Access and key Affiliates, the GMSL ensures the generation of essential evidence for clinical practice, access, and reimbursement decisions.

  • You will assess the GMSL needs, prioritizing gaps, and leading multi-country RWE initiatives. You will contribute to overarching RWE strategy and governance, foster partner engagement, and establish institutional standards for evidence generation. Through comprehensive GMSL landscaping activities, the GMSL gathers insights and data to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation.

  • You will drive the internal and external acceptance of Real-World Data (RWD) and Real-World Evidence (RWE) in healthcare decision-making. By shaping cross-country RWE operational models, enhancing communication, and promoting capability-building, the GMSL ensures the generation of high-quality evidence that supports impactful decision-making.

  • You will identify and implement innovative tools and technologies to improve GMSL efficiency and effectiveness, while staying informed about industry trends and advancements. This role requires a strong understanding of disease areas and a focus on fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and aligning GMSL activities with the Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP) framework and various partners with GELs & GMNLs as well as GMCLs.

Who you are:

(Required)

  • You have a degree in the Life Sciences from an accredited institution; advanced qualifications (PhD, MBA) are preferred

  • You have 10+ years of industry experience within the R&D space

  • You have experience working in US and RWE / ROW markets

  • You have demonstrated experience developing real world data strategy/real world evidence policy, publication planning and observational study design

Preferred:

  • You have proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and achieving common goals

  • You have demonstrated leadership, motivational, and influencing skills to inspire and guide teams

  • You have effective verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)

  • You have demonstrated an entrepreneurial and agile mindset to prioritize impactful activities and adapt to dynamic situations; you have demonstrated a commitment to drive meaningful impact in a transforming environment

The preferred location for this role is South San Francisco, CA.

Relocation benefits are not being offered for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $178,300 - $331,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
