ELECTRONICS TECH MAINTENANCE II - UMS (W-TRS)

Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Technician Maintenance II to join the ever-growing Phoenix Defense team. This position provides technical support for the Universal Mission System (UMS) devices under Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment for the UMS Device.

* Maintain appropriate Contractor Performance Factor (CPF) status for assigned training devices by performing all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment for UMS Training Systems

* Assist in management of device spare parts inventories, and research and select repair parts as needed from Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) or consumable stocks or research the management information system to identify and/or procure repair parts

* Apply basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting military specifications, manufacturer's manuals or similar technical documents to perform training system PMCS, troubleshooting and fault isolation

* Work closely with Training Device Operator Instructors during training execution to resolve software/hardware issues in a timely manner so they do not detract from the training experience

* Develop strong computer networking skills and capabilities to enter work order data into the online management information system

* Develop strong analytical, problem-solving, customer services and decision-making skills

* Applies basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Associate's degree in computer science or related field or three to five years' experience as a Simulation Tech, Computer Operator or related position

* Must be a subject matter expert on UAS TADSS operation

* Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and On-Post driving privileges

* Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment

* Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills

* Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

* Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.

* Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

* Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

* Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

* Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

* Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.

* Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

* Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

* Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

* Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

* The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.

* Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

* Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
