Baker College is seeking qualified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in the development of courses for our new Biology program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality curriculum design in a growing academic discipline. Below is a list of courses and the corresponding credential requirements for each SME role:



  • Organic Chemistry I & II - Instructor must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry with demonstrated expertise in organic chemistry.
  • Animal Physiology - Requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) or a Ph.D. in Biology with a research focus in physiology.
  • Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy - Requires a D.V.M. or a Ph.D. in Biology with demonstrated research in vertebrate anatomy.
  • Advanced Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II - Requires a Ph.D. in Anatomy or a closely related field, with a strong background in research physiology.
  • Mammalogy - Requires a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Biology or a related field, with research experience specifically in mammalogy.
  • Human Pathophysiology - Instructor should be a licensed Medical Doctor (M.D.) or a Ph.D.-level researcher with specialization in pathophysiology.
  • Ichthyology - Requires a Ph.D. or Master's degree in Biology or a related field, with demonstrated research experience in ichthyology.
  • Epidemiology - Requires a Ph.D. in Public Health or related field; M.D. with relevant training and experience in epidemiology is also acceptable.
