SUMMARY: The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the wound care program from the Direction of Leadership. This role involves providing leadership and expertise in wound assessment, treatment, and management, ensuring high-quality care for patients with acute and chronic wounds. The Wound Care nurse practitioner will collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement evidence-based wound care protocols, monitor outcomes, and educate staff members. Evaluate and prescribe treatments for wound/ostomy care patients. Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient impairment and objective findings on evaluations. Communicate plan of care to medical and surgical teams to ensure best patient outcomes. Communicate effectively with leadership and charge in the wound care department. Performs bedside debridement and charges 11000 CPT series debridement codes based on level of tissue removal. Communicates and collaborates POC with surgical attendings, ensures that Attendings sign off procedures and establish plans of cares. Executes oversight of daily operations from the direction of the wound care Director. QUALIFICATIONS
