Responsibilities and Expectations:
As a purchasing coordinator for IPS, you will handle the day-to-day purchasing of materials and supplies promptly as required. Additionally, in this role, you will ensure appropriate inventory levels, vendor pricing negotiations, and the timeliness of products from vendors and customers' products to the service center. Responsibilities may include:
- Order parts for jobs promptly, as advised by service center departments
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure the proper products and parts are ordered.
- Obtain pricing and availability on parts to support project estimation, including working with our sales team for repair or replacement options.
- Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Proactively communicate with outside vendors on a scheduled basis to confirm order statuses and delivery timelines. When changes occur, communicate internally to operations for project planning efficiencies.
- Resolve or assist in resolving all prices and/or ordering discrepancies relative to purchased materials, incoming shipments, and outside invoices.
- Continually look for ways to improve the efficiency of the supply chain
- Dispatch our truck driver for all customers' pick-ups and deliveries, including coordinating services with our industrial field service group and other regional service centers.
- Support the operations team with project entry, quoting, and expediting during busy periods.
- Manage all repair tags using the Service Centers engraver and associated software.
- Be professional, especially when representing the company during phone or personal contact with outside vendors, customers,service providers, etc.
- Participating in Continuous Improvement Process Systems
- All other duties as assigned.
