TITLE: DIRECTOR, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

LOCATION: ASHBURN, VA

POSITION SUMMARY : The Director, Workforce Development & Training will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of workforce development projects within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure that training programs and development initiatives are effectively implemented and aligned with the company's goals. The Director of Workforce Development & Training is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of training programs within the organization. This role involves identifying training needs, designing effective training programs, and ensuring that employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. Responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating workforce development programs including training, upskilling, reskilling, apprenticeships, and internships. Must be an OSHA authorized instructor, NFPA70E (CESCP), NFPA (CEPSS), and a CPR/First Aid instructor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Training Coordination: Design, coordinate, and evaluate training programs to enhance employee skills and performance: Lead and manage workforce development projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and the Learning and Development team to identify skill gaps and training needs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Manage the budget for workforce development initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Compliance: Ensure all training programs comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on workforce development activities and outcomes to senior management.
  • Training Needs Analysis: Conduct performance reviews and skills gap analyses to identify training needs for departments, teams, and individuals.
  • Program Development: Design and oversee learning and development programs, including group and individual learning courses.
  • Curriculum Management: Oversee the creation and management of training materials, such as manuals, online learning modules, and instructional videos.
  • Budget Management: Manage the training budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using relevant metrics and feedback mechanisms and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Leadership Development: Spearhead the development and implementation of leadership development programs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all training programs comply with relevant regulations and standards. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads to develop targeted programs that address specific departmental and organizational requirements.
  • Promote: Highlight training/certification accomplishments across the company for individuals to aid in their advancement/growth opportunities.



QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce development, training, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Certificates and Licenses:


  • OSHA 510 Certified Instructor
  • NFPA 70 Certified Instructor
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Pay Range: $152,451 - $228,623 per year
