Description
Summary/Purpose of the Position: The Procurement Manager manages the Company's sourcing capabilities and supply chain. This role is responsible for strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expense. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities for the procurement team
- Ordering control and methods for the region
- Inventory methods and surplus levels of the region
- Mentor Buyers and Procurement Support Staff on best practices
- Buy and manage inventory levels for their region(s)
- Support Key Initiatives of Supply Chain
- Mitigate current and future risks associated with commodities and products
- Ensure suppliers understand the business needs and initiatives
- Support the Strategic Relationship Management Plan
- Inventory turn goals
- Surplus Goals
- Documented Cost Savings
- Purchase Order Status
- Projects/Initiatives
- Marketplace Trends
- Perform reviews as required by company policy
- Ensure timely and accurate database information to enable the processing or purchase orders, inventory variables (i.e. lead-times) and invoices/costing
- Manage transaction discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support supplier quality management (as needed)
- Indirectly responsible for product quality
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred
- 4+ years' experience in Procurement/Supply Chain
- Professional, self-starter with a positive attitude, and well-rounded procurement experience including the delivery of financial results
- Good understanding and proven ability to deliver results
- A "Can-Do"- service oriented attitude
- Proficient Skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Detail oriented with analytical capacity
- Project Management skills
- Ability to cooperate in a Team Atmosphere
- Ability to work autonomously
- Knowledge of Distribution and Channel Management preferred
- Ability to build and maintain complex spreadsheets
- Infor/SX System Knowledge preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Physical Requirements:
