Summary:
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) works in the Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospital (PHP) levels of care as a clinical support to the treatment teams providing supportive and direct services to patients. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supports the clinical team in delivering the cognitive and other therapeutic services to program patients according to clinical standards of care and under the supervision of the clinical supervisor/director or designee.
  • Supports check in, check out, lunch, and other transitional activities of the patients, i.e., supervise children and adolescents during their lunchtime.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings ask requested.
  • Collects and documents patient progress data daily, as instructed, to contribute to the overall treatment plan of patients. Monitor dietary intake of the patients.
  • Provide structured therapeutic milieu in which a positive pattern of social, education, personal behavior and coping skills is taught, reinforced, and enhanced.
  • Provide management of milieu.
  • Implement individualized care based upon the treatment plan of the individual.
  • Maintain the environment in a safe, orderly manner.
  • Support/Influence behavior management plans/programs for all patients and follow through with implementing each program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Demands:
  • Strong interpersonal skills are needed, due to interaction with patients and professional staff.
  • Must be proactive and detailed oriented with a strong commitment to teamwork, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Must be able to work independently and complete assignments within specified timeframes.
  • Must be highly proficient in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Position requires walking, sitting, and standing. Lifting is moderate; must be capable of lifting a minimum of twenty (20) pounds. Reaching, handling, grasping and manual dexterity are necessary to operate various pieces of office equipment. Stooping, bending, kneeling, and flexible movements are required to work with orientation equipment.
  • Verbal and hearing ability is required to interact with patients and employees. Numerical ability is required to maintain records and operate a computer.
  • Tact is required to deal effectively with patients. Logical thinking and discretion are required to make decisions in initiating and implementing policies and procedures and standards.
  • Must be able to read and communicate through written, verbal, and auditory skills and abilities.
Education/Training Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years' experience in behavioral health or medical field preferred.
  • Formal training in the management of the aggressive patient (NCI) is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
  • American Red Cross Professional Rescue is required within thirty (30) days of date of hire. Bi-annual re-certification is required.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and other in-services relevant to the position. Be responsible for all educational requirements and related obligations pertaining to the license of the program/unit license regulatory requirements governing the program(s).

Pay Transparency Requirements:

Compensation for this role is between $25.00 - $33.60. This location is operated under a collective bargaining agreement which will determine placement in the wage scale - all new hires will be paid at a rate on the scale and placed at that step of the scale, while all internal hires' wages will align to their years of service.Drivers License - Cert
