Outbound Planner

Position Description and Purpose:

Roskam Foods produces and packages food products with the goal of consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations for quality, safety, and wholesomeness.

This individual will use customer service skills to function as the primary contact for collaborating with our transportation partner. This role is also responsible for ensuring product availability and calling out any discrepancies to our customers. A Logistics load planner facilitates communication between production and the distribution stages to promote a healthy and efficient supply chain. Their responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs all work tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Is the primary point of contact for Customer Load Planning
• Reviewing shipment materials before distributions
• Utilizes Yardview to compile trailer reports for carriers.
• Informs carriers of rejected trailers and follows up with corrective action.
• Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
• Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels
• Tracking and fixing shipping errors
• Making special shipping arrangements as necessary
• Preparing load plans for each day
• Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience with Microsoft AX preferred.
• May work overtime, evenings, or weekends to complete work or to attend meetings, as directed and authorized by management.
• Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication.
• Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent customer service and client relations skills
• Organization and time management skills
• Good collaboration and teamwork abilities
