Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Force Operations (FO)
Clearance Required: TS/SCI - Pentagon

Astrion is seeking a highly qualified Force Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support senior-level planning and execution of Joint Force development and operational strategy. This position plays a critical role in shaping future warfighting concepts and aligning operational plans with evolving threats and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert analysis and guidance on Joint Force design, operational concepts, and force employment strategies.

  • Advise on Combatant Command (COCOM) operational planning, including logistics, threat responses, and operational constraints.

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) and Concepts of Employment (CONEMPs) across joint and coalition environments.

  • Support the integration of multi-domain operations, with consideration for evolving adversary tactics and emerging technologies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Deep understanding of Joint Staff operations and processes (experience on Joint Staff highly desired).

  • Strong background in supporting COCOMs with planning, coordination, and execution of theater-level operational plans.

  • Familiarity with strategic and operational logistics approaches to sustain joint operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; completion of Senior Service College (War College or equivalent) strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in military operations, force planning, or operational strategy

  • TS/SCI security clearance is required
