POSITION SUMMARY Fire Chief position requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage personnel. This position requires the selected Fire Chief must live or relocate within 15 minutes of Grant County Airport 7810 Andrews St.NE, Moses Lake WA 98837. RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Fire Chief is responsible to develop and implement a comprehensive F&ES program in accordance with FAA Part 139 and be familiar with NAS 3306, DCMA 8210, USAF 32-2001 AND DoD 6055 as well as all applicable OSHA and NFPA Codes and regulations.
- Direct and evaluate the daily operations for the Department to ensure compliance with all requirements while maintaining a high level of performance.
- Formulate local department business and administrative policy and procedures to project and recommend budget expenditures for the Company.
- Execute the performance evaluation process on direct reports and ensure the process flows down to all employees from their supervisors.
- Monitor deviations from the approved budget and initiate corrective actions in order to control costs.
- To interact and coordinate with the Director, Client, Captains, Firefighters and nearby department leaders the statuses of present programs and react to new developments within the areas of operation.
- To assume responsibility for all purchases, approve invoices for payment and approve and monitor all travel and expenses of all personnel in accordance with multiple Company policies.
- Coordinate development of personnel recruitment and promotional programs with the recruitment division.
- Create and execute the overall training and certification programs.
- Create and execute fire prevention plans, including developing and delivering public education presentations tailored to specific industries and targeted audiences.
- To attend meetings, conferences and seminars as approved by the Director including the ARFF working group Conference.
- To oversee the activities of the Department to assure compliance with federal, state & local agency requirements.
- To maintain communication with the Director in identifying significant problems and developments to facilitate management decision making.
- To create and present complex reports, presentations, and other documents for Company use and Client clarification and understanding.
- To perform such additional administrative duties on behalf of the Department that may be assigned by the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- US Citizen
- GED or High School Diploma
- Bachelor's Degree in Fire Administration, Business Administration or a related field OR 7-10 Years of relevant work experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment and annual NFPA/Firefighter physical, Drug Screening.
- IFSAC or NPQS Firefighter II,
- IFSAC or NPQS Fire Officer III,
- IFSAC or NPQS Fire Instructor I
- IFSAC or NPQS Health & Safety officer within 2 yrs.
- IFSAC or NPQS Incident Safety officer within 2 yrs.
- NIMS ICS 100,200,300,400,700,701
- The following certifications are not required but preferred: Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor II, Fire Inspector II, HazMat Tech and Incident Command.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Fire Chief works a 48/96 schedule
- Ability to work during inclement weather.
- Must be available to travel if needed.
- May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
