Join our dynamic team at Ryerson as an Accounts Receivable Coordinator. You'll be responsible for taking ownership of key accounts receivable functions, from processing payments to resolving billing issues. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across departments, support month-end close activities, and play a vital part in maintaining strong customer relationships.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process and post customer payments accurately and timely
  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and proactively follow up on overdue invoices
  • Generate and distribute accurate customer statements and aging reports
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or customer payment issues
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing accuracy and resolve disputes
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all collection activities and communications
  • Assist with month-end closing and audit preparation related to receivables

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2 plus years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills


Salary: $25-$29 hourly. A starting wage higher than $25 an hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
