Job Description

Job Profile: Ceramic Seal Patch Operator - Levels 1-2

Position Summary:

Identify manufacturing defects on cores and patch or trim cores to repair defects. Blue dye and inspect.

Essential Functions:

  • Must follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Produce quantities within set standards of each part number, identify core defects and maintain accurate records (routers, CQCS, etc)
  • 100% visual inspection before working on cores is required
  • Identify negatives on all cores and patch according to procedure
  • Identify cracks and voids on all cores and patch according to procedure
  • Must accurately complete blue dye inspection
  • Use air gun with diamond tool to trim flash on all cores
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation and enter information into the computer
  • Employees will place hazardous (flammable) waste into satellite accumulation drums; employees will move hazardous (flammable) wastes to staging areas, etc. In the event of a spill employee will be involved in implementing the hazardous contingency plan and will assume the role of Emergency Coordinator in a hazardous waste emergency
  • Meet department productivity and yield standards
  • Must follow and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Maintain department standards for housekeeping/6S
  • Other duties as assigned by supervision

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment
  • Must be self-directed to accomplish goals
  • Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and internal employees
  • Preferred fine motor skills
