Job Title: Financial Aid/ Admission Counselor/ Student Advisor
Pay Rate: $26.00 /hr. on w2 without benefits
Location: 255 Westminster Street Providence, RI 02903
Duration: 12+ Months
Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Own transportation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct dept. business in a professional and ethical manner that includes the College's core values of integrity, diversity, empowerment, service, learning, and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner with students, employees, LEAs, and the general public.
- Perform professional-level work requiring a wide range of administrative, technical, accounting, legal, or analytical methods applied to complex problems.
- Follow complex technical instructions, solve technical problems, or disseminate information regarding policies and procedures
- May compose unique reports or analysis
- Provide extensive customer service to internal or external customers.
- Communicate information to guide or assist people.
- Utilize current department information technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite; office machines such as telephones or copiers.
- Ensure that all activities are conducted within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and standards in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal supervision.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Open Meetings law.
- Knowledge of department and RIDE policies, procedures, and practices with the ability to answer work related questions, interpret and apply these guidelines correctly in various situations.
- Effective organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in computer-based word processing, spreadsheets, database, email, and organizational software. Excellent writing, grammar and punctuation skills; event and meeting planning skills; outstanding customer service skills; decision-making skills.
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as virtual meeting/video conferencing software and equipment, calculator, and copy machines.
- Ability to multi-task, independently prioritize work to be accomplished, and take and produce minutes.
