Bring your desire for learning and operational mindset to our team as an Electrical and Instrument Technician (E&I Technician) Trainee. The training program is a 16-20 week program with Reworld, a leading sustainable materials management company. While in the program, you will develop in depth technical expertise by going through an extensive hands-on training at the GPI Learning Technical Center in Tampa, FL (a total of 8 weeks). You will also receive an on-line training curriculum in addition, to on-the-job training at the Lorton, VA Facility. This is a paid training program, and trainees will be eligible for travel and expense reimbursement. Upon completing program requirements, participants are prepared to step into an Electrical and Instrument Technician position at one of our Facilities. Summary Learning will be varied based on in-person classroom instruction, computer based training, and hands-on training while under the supervision of a dedicated field trainer or shift supervisor. Under general maintenance supervision, the E&I Tech trainee, will assist in basic electrical and electronic work in the maintenance of motors, control centers, and electrical fixtures in support of the entire facility operation, maintaining operation of the entire plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements, in conjunction with National and Local Electrical Codes. You will continue to build your skills and experience as you graduate into your permanent Electrical and Instrument Technician (E&I Technician) role. What your entry-level program journey will look like:
After successfully completing the first segment of in-classroom training, you will be assigned to a qualified E&I Technician, supervisor, or trainer, to allow you to assist with installs, maintains, performs PM's, repairs, calibrates, test, and adjusts any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and other industrial equipment. Installs, repairs, and maintains all power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls, and related equipment. Assists with inspects, tests, adjusts, repairs and maintains high voltage equipment, including but limited to generator, AC and DC motors, as well as all plant switchgear and related equipment. Assists with planning & detailing of jobs assigned, using sketches, blueprints, schematics and drawings. Consults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards.
