Summary/Objective:

Develops, implements, trains and audits improvements in multiple manufacturing processes (heavy manufacturing production floor presence)

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Provide support for continuous improvement activities:
    • Develops and maintains meticulous production layouts (AutoCad, DWG)
    • Prepare time and motions studies, BOM's, routings, Work Instructions
  • Chart process flow, Control plans, PFMEA
  • Learn, documents and trains team members on machine set-up and changeovers
  • Provide project management for larger projects
  • Works closely with Quality and Compliance on documenting and educating internal and external customers on industry standards
  • Occasionally provides on the floor leadership by guiding activities and catalyzing production.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, state of the art manufacturing environment.
  • Standing and walking for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Travel to customer or other Lippert facilities may be required
  • Floor time at customers or other Lippert facilities may be required which may include walking, kneeling, crouching, sitting, standing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 2D Auto CAD Required
  • SolidWorks
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Essential Functions:

  • Periodically report on progress
  • Seek assistance when confronted with obstacles
  • Provide support for any major equipment and process installation and setup.
  • Interface with equipment manufacturer, operations, maintenance, safety, quality
  • Train affected employees
  • Establish maintenance schedules, calibration needs, safety guarding and procedures, etc.
  • Work with Operation Management to establish goals for improvement in Safety, Quality and productivity.
  • Create and produce supporting documentation required for CAPEX on equipment (ROI)

This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities upon hiring.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also become necessary.

Travel:

Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proven Leadership experience in a similar industry
  • Public speaking ability
  • Strong organization and time management skills
