Overview

R&P is looking for a motivated professional who wants to join our team. We are a mid-sized defense contractor providing program management, ship design, production, cyber risk management, testing, logistics, financial management, test and evaluation, configuration management, post-delivery, fleet introduction, light manufacturing, as well as maintenance and repair services to our government clients and industry partners. We need a senior-level Waterfront Engineer ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment in support of the Strategic & Theater Sealift Shipbuilding Program (PMS 385) and specifically to the Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) platform.



Responsibilities

    Serve as waterfront engineering lead in support of the PMS 385 Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) shipbuilding program.
  • Act as liaison between headquarters engineering and the waterfront team, PMS 385, and the Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) for all production engineering matters.
  • Apply experience in various areas of Marine Engineering: Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, C4I, Structural, Propulsion, Auxiliary Machinery, Naval Architecture, Deck Equipment, Aviation Support.
  • Provide investigation of and resolution for engineering issues while referencing ship specifications, shipyard contract, drawings, models, and other technical documentation. Perform shipchecks as required.
  • Assist in the development of Work Packages, Statements of Work, and specifications to ensure adherence to requirements.
  • Develop weekly reports (SITREPs, Metrics) on production engineering issues, corrective actions, physical progress, shipyard performance, etc.
  • Identify risks and provide analysis of emergent issues to include recommendations for risk mitigation and/or resolution. Identify lessons learned for incorporation in future ships.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related discipline with 15+ Years' of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Active Secret Clearance
