US Payroll Tax Advisor
Lead U.S. payroll tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in a permanent role based in Salt Lake City. Leverage your expertise in multi-state payroll, year-end reporting, and SAP to support a large, complex U.S. employee base. About the role Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs. We are looking for an experienced, ambitious, forward-thinking US Payroll Tax expert to manage, analyze and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local payroll tax regulations. Additionally, will possess in-depth knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws, strong analytical skills and experience with payroll tax systems and filings. Our team supports a large and diverse group of offices and operations across the US. This is a permanent role reporting to the Sr. Payroll Advisor, you will be responsible for the following:
Maintain compliance with tax laws and legislation in all applicable jurisdictions Ensure accurate calculation, withholding and remittance of federal, state and local payroll taxes Review and file payroll tax returns and amendments (940, 941, state, local and W2's) Monitor legislative changes affecting payroll tax and recommend necessary system and process updates Manage relationships with external tax agencies, regarding notices and queries Manage payroll tax liabilities Review processes and ensure compliance within company policies and employment standards Manage tax audits Collaborate with payroll team to resolve tax-related issues Support US fiscal year-end activities Provide area of expertise on payroll tax issues and best practices Participate in continuous improvement initiates in the payroll area Support 1099 Filings
What you will bring
Bachelor in HR, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field Minimum of 5 years experience in U.S. Payroll tax compliance and reporting Expert knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll reporting and legislation Experience with SAP payroll system Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Experience with year-end processes including W2/W3's Analytical, able to identify, find solution and solve problems autonomously Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Has worked in a Global environment in a large company Process improvement mindset
