Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:

The Rough Finishing Operative must be able to perform one or more of the following operations: Cut-off, Blast, Water Blast, Alloy Type Test (ATT), Snag, Green Sort and Marking. Operator must be able to perform all operations and operate equipment efficiently.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check all routings for proper identification and operational routing.
  • Operate pneumatic knockout unit.
  • Cut-off castings, trim excess gating.
  • Hand blast or water blast parts to remove excess ceramic material.
  • Check alloy type.
  • Snag grinding.
  • Apply proper markings to castings using correct work instructions.
  • Visually inspect work for obvious defects.
  • Record on a daily basis all work performed by operational codes.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and in a safe working condition, follow all safety rules.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.

EDUCATION:

High school education.

EXPERIENCE:

Rough Finish experience preferred.

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

Normal initiative and ingenuity.

EFFORT:

Normal effort required. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, approximately 10-20 times per hour. Use chain hoist for heavier weights.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for self. Make sure parts meet quality standards. Must be willing to work daily overtime and weekend overtime as necessary.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Dirty working conditions due to ceramic pieces and dust.
