Job Description

Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include: CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

Work Location:

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Irvine, CA. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist III is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting activities related to accounts payable, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. This senior-level role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the accounting team. The specialist will also support other accounting functions, including accounts receivable, month-end close activities, and may assist with process improvements or mentoring of junior team members. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review, match, and vouch vendor invoices with purchase orders and receivers.
  • Identify and separate invoices subject to California sales tax for quarterly reporting.
  • Escalate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
  • Obtain proper departmental authorization for any invoice variances.
  • Communicate with vendors to address invoice or payment issues, as needed.
  • Process bi-weekly check runs and compile payment files for management review and approval.
  • Pick up and organize packing slips or paperwork from the receiving/shipping area.
  • Assist with accounts receivable activities, including customer follow-ups and resolving billing disputes.
  • Prepare month-end accrual data for journal entries.
  • Support general accounting projects and cross-functional needs within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MAPICS or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Familiarity with general accounting procedures and internal controls.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of coursework or training in accounting is preferred.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems using logical reasoning and interpret instructions delivered in various forms (written, oral, diagram).
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with databases, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25.50 to $38.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
